The Association of Friends of the Museu do Chiado

Being a ‘friend’ is a way of interacting with the museum. Members of the association play an active role in the museum’s cultural and fundraising activities.

Members are entitled to various benefits: free museum admission; free admission to all exhibitions held at the museum; regular information on museum events; invitations to all exhibition openings; guided tours of exhibitions; guided tours of other museums and/or exhibitions; a 10% discount on items purchased at the museum shop; a 20% discount on catalogues for current exhibitions; and links to similar associations at other cultural institutions.

Also available are special corporate packages, which include cultural awareness activities (courses, seminars, special children’s workshops, etc.) and extraordinary benefits, including having your name added to a plaque in the museum and mentioned in all published catalogues.

You can also contact the association by e-mail at amigos@mchiado-ipmuseus.pt or through the museum. Your membership card(s) will be sent to your home address soon afterwards.

Membership is for one year and the amount payable varies according to the type of membership chosen:

Individual: 50 €

Family: 75 € (3 membership cards) + 10 € for each extra card

Senior citizen: 25 €

Group: a minimum fee of 250 € (10 membership cards) + 25 € for each extra card

Benefactor: a minimum fee of 1,250 €

Membership must are renewed annually
